Yellow Brick was back in action in Nome, Alaska, to visit Norton Sound Regional Hospital. Project Director, Kelly Guzman, and Project Coordinator, Melissa Johnston, were onsite to conduct a Table Top Session for the MRI suite opening in January 2019. End-users from various departments reviewed their respective roles using scenarios and floorplans. The scenarios served as a script for participants to review the workflow for typical procedures done in the MRI suite. The team was able to walk the new space to validate paths of travel, review elements for patient safety, and validate the location of supplies and equipment.
The project team is excited for the upcoming months of planning for education and training, champion training, and a Dress Rehearsal event. The MRI suite will offer the Inupiat, Siberian Yup’ik and Yu’pik people of the Bering Strait region access to state-of-the-art imaging services. This addition serves to further the Norton Sound Health Corporation’s mission of “Providing quality health services and promoting wellness within our people and environment.”
